Another Anime Boston come and gone. Sadly sales were on the low side. Made everything back plus some which is the important part but still only about half of what I usually pull for this con in profits.
No idea what it was this year, the day always started out strong with sales and then after lunchtime its like everyone decided to buy only little things despite the large variety of figures I have compared to last year (and the better spot we had to boot).
Didn’t move nearly as much old stuff as I hoped, so with AAC very far away (and our next con not until June) I’ll be posting a A LOT of old stock up on Etsy in the coming weeks. Looking to move ALL figures that have no jump rings on them as they are out of date with the glaze I currently use and, of course, in the quality I produce in detail in general.
Security was far far better this year than last year, couple hiccups with not quite being clear on what dealers had to go through (some were allowed through without being searched, while I was checked every time), but there’s always has been some gray translation between staff and security so not much to be done for that.
No one was rude or the like, everyone was really lovely and I got to catch up with some friends I only get to see at AB which was equally wonderful.
Had dinner at Fire & Ice with Allyson and Jesse which was a nice change from Wagamama, and pretty much ate from Au Bon Pain for breakfast every day instead of Dunkin Donuts.
Next AB I’m gonna try a run solo for the Pro Row in Artist Alley. Dealers Room hours are nice and you get a lot of foot traffic but two years in there has proven I do far better among fellow artists.
With luck, some changes to the AA will be made so that the BS shenanigans of sign ups don’t continue like they have.
I got a bunch of cosplay pics this year so those will be posted soon. Thank you to those who stopped by our booth <3
